I just found this announcement about Jim. I didn’t receive my usual Christmas card from him and when I tried phoning, I learned his number was no longer listed. Jim & I went to high school together....we went to our prom and graduation together. I married and lived away from Toronto since my husband was in the Armed Forces. Jim & I kept in touch each Christmas and did manage to have a few visits over the years. He was very special to me and I feel so so sad after discovering this notice of his passing. I met his Mom & Dad at our graduation but I do not recall ever meeting any of his brothers. Please accept my sincerest condolences. I now have retired in Barrie.

My deepest condoleces to Mr Wickstead's family, I was a student of Mr Wickstead at White Haven Public School in Scarborough, I would say back in 1970 , I am so sorry for your loss.
We express our sincerest sympathy to Jim's family at this time of sadness and personal loss. Our thoughts and prayers are for his loved ones. Jim was a real professional and took great pride in all his endeavours. He served with distinction as a school Principal and Centrally Assigned Principal in Special Education at the Scarborough Board of Education. For a number of years Jim was the Chair of the Club 90 Association for retired school and system leaders. The organization flourished and grew under his leadership..
Jim introduced my wife and I to beautiful Hawaii, his favorite home away from Scarborough. He was at the airport when our plane landed in Hawaii for our first visit. He presented us with leis and took us to lunch and a tour. After that visit we continued to stay at the hotel where Jim and his friends preferred over the years. Jim will be remembered for his personal touch, sense of humour and his desire to always do the right thing in all his endeavours.
We will remember him fondly.
