Obituary of Mr. Corrado Accaputo

It is with deep sadness that the family of Corrado Accaputo announces his passing, who passed peacefully at Michael Garron Hospital on October 28th, 2019. Corrado lived a long, momentous life, and was known for his extravagant, quick witted personality.

Left to miss his generosity and love are his loving wife of 58 years, Rina, and their two sons Ross and Rob (Bridget). 

He is pre-deceased by his sister Dina (Franco) and niece Maria. 

A loving brother of Lucy (Corrado) and Mary (Mario) and a proud Zio to Patricia, Roberto, Nadia, Claudio and Maurizio.

He was a cherished grandfather to Chantel (Danny), Justan, Melissa, Amanda, Claudia, and Corey, and a great-grandfather to Sebastian. Corrado was a hard-working, supportive son to Rosario and Francesca, who he loved and missed dearly.

Corrado came to Canada from Sicily, on March 25th, 1957 and quickly became a legend on Bathurst Street in Toronto. He started working as a barber downtown, and went on to own one of the city’s most well-known barber shops, “Corrado’s Barber Shop”. He took pride in his work, and did not put down his clippers until 55 years later.

Corrado worked hard to provide for his family, who were his greatest joys in life. He also loved to watch old Western movies, and listen to Claudio Villa on repeat, while spending time at his beloved cottage, surrounded by the people he loved most. He loved nothing more than to see his family, and to see them happy.

Respects can be paid on Thursday October 31st from 2-4pm and 7-9pm, and on Friday November 1st at 11am for his final service.
