My deepest condolence to the Lin family. It was a sad news, learning of Mr. Chu Ken Lin (Uncle Lin) passed away. I first met Uncle Lin in 1995 at a Jiao Tong University Alumni Association (Canada) event. At that time I was still a fresh international graduate student from China coming to study at the University of Toronto, and trying to settle down. Many senior alumni friends, including Uncle Lin gave me much encouragement and support. Over the years, mainly through the same alumni association activities, I interacted with Uncle Lin in many occasions. He witnessed my personal development, meeting myself and my newly wed wife, holding my first born son, greeting my second born daughter ... ... Uncle Lin and the late Uncle Shen (another alumnus in Toronto) became the grandfather figure to me and my family. I remembered our recent email communication was back in the Christmas era of 2018, he apologized for not able to join the Association Annual Lunch event. I promised to stay in touch, perhaps to meet again sometime this year, a promise I can no longer hold and will forever regret.
I am traveling, not able to pay my respect to Uncle Lin and his family in person to the visitation or the service.
Good bye Uncle Lin, Rest in Peace.

Dear Lin family
Sorry to hear your loss.
Uncle Lin and my Dad Wing Kam Ting were colleaques while working at Kader. Dad quite often mentioned him at home so I was very familiar his name.
After Mum and Dad migrated to Toronto they were happy able to see their friends again. I was told Uncle Lin had learnt carpentry and had made a beautiful dinning table.
I only met Uncle Lin once in 2001 at the 80th birthday dinner party of my Dad. Uncle Lin took the video and put in the music at the ackground. He was full of talent, not afraid of challnge, and willing to learn new things . He lived every day to the fullest, a great example to all of us.
