Obituary of Mrs. Noveline Harriott
On Tuesday, July 2nd, 2019, Noveline Harriott, loving partner, sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and aunt, passed away at the age of 85.
Noveline was born on April 20th, 1934 in St. Elizabeth, Jamaica to Eric Harriott and Susan Graham. Raised by her adoring Aunt Violet, Noveline was taught to be a strong and fiercely independent woman. After starting her family, Noveline began a new life in Montreal where she worked in a bakery for several years. Her entrepreneurial spirit later aided her in opening her very own bakery, Robyn’s Bakery, named after her second daughter. One of her greatest accomplishments would be helping raise her three beautiful grandchildren in Pickering.
Noveline had a passion for gardening, crossword puzzles, and for drilling the multiplication tables into the minds of any kids that came into her care. She loved to make hot Jamaican meals and bake tasty pineapple tartes. But most of all, Noveline was known for her wise words, infectious laughter and her kind and compassionate spirit. Within her community, she became an adoptive grandma to countless children, and you could always count on her for a warm motherly embrace and, equally important, to tell you if you were putting on a few extra pounds.
Noveline is survived by her loving partner, James Hart, her sisters, Hyacinth and Deliliah, her two beautiful daughters, Maxine and Robyn, her grandchildren, Naomi, Jonathan, Jordan and Christina, her cherished great-grandchildren, Jayden and Isla, and her nephews, Roger, Shane and Elvis. A funeral service honouring Noveline will be held on Tuesday, July 9th, 2019 at Ogden Funeral Homes on Sheppard Avenue East at 12:00pm. Visitation will take place prior to the funeral service at 11:00am.
