Obituary of Mrs. Monique Cécile Kossecki
On Friday 14 December 2018, Monique Kossecki unexpectedly passed away quietly at her home, at the age of 84.
Monique was predeceased by her loving husband of 41 years, Fred. She was also predeceased by her sisters Anne-Marie and Jeanine.
Monique is survived by her sons Mark (Anna) and Richard (Alyson) and her 4 grand-children, Gabrielle, Joseph, Andrew and Rachel.
She is also survived by her sister Olga, and her brothers Hermann, René, Luc, André and Jean-Claude.
Monique came to Canada from Switzerland in the mid 1950's at the age of 20, looking for a temporary adventure in a new country.
She found work in a variety of places, including at the renowned Elizabeth Arden Beauty Salon at Simpson's Queen Street store in downtown Toronto.
Eventually, through common acquaintances, she met an immigrant "from a far-away" country in Europe, who would become the love of her life.
Monique and Fred settled first in Montreal and then in Toronto, and set about working hard and raising their family.
In Fred, she found the adventure she was looking for and the family she cherished.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in memory of Monique on Tuesday 18 December at 09:30 a.m., at St. Lawrence the Martyr Church followed by internment at Holy Cross Cemetery.
