Sincere condolences to those who are grieving the loss of a mother, a sister, a relative or a friend.
Memories of Aunt Vic include that she was a fantastic baker. She made the flakiest pastry, fantastic butter tarts and superb lemon meringue pie. She would generously bring these to her sister’s, my mom, when she came to visit or stay for a dinner. We all loved these treats.
She was also an accomplished seamstress. She once invited me to see the Nutcracker rehearsal at the ballet and to go behind the scenes to meet her friends and see the painstaking work that was being done on the outfits that took life on stage. She deserved to be proud of her impressive achievements.
When visualizing my aunt, I see her signature hair styles and her always neat, ladylike attire. She frequently wore tailored vests. Most of all, I see a woman whose eyes twinkled.
