Obituary of Mrs. Irene Scott

Please share a memory of Mrs. Irene to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

On December 9, 2018, Irene Scott passed away at age 93, in Toronto.

Irene was born in Ebor, Manitoba where she lived until the age of sixteen when she moved to Winnipeg to attend business school. It was there she met and married the love of her life, Jim Scott. The couple raised four children, moving from Winnipeg, Manitoba to Vancouver, British Columbia and finally to Toronto, Ontario.

Irene had a passion for life and was known for her kind, compassionate spirit. She had many interests and a wide circle of friends from all walks of life. She was an excellent seamstress, fanatic bridge player, square dancer, artist, and avid gardener. Her garden was the envy of many friends and neighbours.

Irene is preceded in death by her husband Jim, daughter Sheila and daughter-in-law Kim.

She will be sadly missed by her sons Wayne (Laila), Brian and her daughter Marilyn (Stan) and grandchildren Alanna (Anders) of Sweden and Jeff (Mel) and their children Juan and Tina. Irene also leaves behind her effervescent sister, Dorothy and numerous nieces and nephews.

Thanks to the staff at Delmanor, Wynford and the Ina Grafton Gage Home for their care and support. A special thanks to caregivers, Aida, Elenita, Ashley and Marie.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 15, at the Ogden Funeral Home, (4164 Sheppard Ave. E., Scarborough, M1S 1T3) at 2:00 p.m., with visitation one hour prior.
