I just looked up Vick's name to ascertain about his whereabout. He was a great friend of my husband Kenneth Armstrong in Peel Police. I am saddened to find out about his passing. We had manny lunch dates with Vick, he always talked about Dorthy with such admiration. Ken passed away in 2020. Hopefully they are reminiscing old times.

I worked as Vick's secretary with Peel Police for many years and enjoyed listening to him talk about his younger days. He was truly a very special man. He was always referred to fondly as "The Big Sarge from T.O." I feel proud to have known him. Pam

Vic came from an era of police officers that I was happy to be part of. I worked next door to Vic when he was in charge of the Peel Regional Police Bomb Squad. We had some good conversations. He was a good man and a good copper. I called him a few years back and he never forgot the red Volvo I sold him and some of the pranks that he pulled years ago.
To sum up, Vic Henderson was an unforgettable human being. May he rest in peace in heaven.

I had the pleasure of working with Vic at Peel Regional Police. He was a no-nonsense copper, yet kind hearted with a sincere interest in others. He often riveted the attention of younger officers with his tales of policing in the 'old days', all the while doing it with a twinkle in his eye.
Sincere condolences to Bill and the family on Vic's passing.

I wish I could offer some words of wisdom here, but I just can't. Vic seems to have had a creditable career of helping others. I can say that I knew him only slightly when I was married to Detective Sergeant Ken Whale of Peel Region Police. Ken passed in 1984.
My condolences to all of Vic's family. He will be missed.

It's the end of an era for me. This amazing man was the last remaining police friend of my husband Tom and our family.
Dorothy, Vic, Bill and Helen Armstrong Tom and I would meet at a restaurant near Peterborough on a regular basis. Vic continued to visit us in Peterborough until Tom's death. I spoke to him on his 90th birthday and wished him many more.
When Dorothy passed, Vic carried a soul deep grief. He worked hard and loved hard. This man who was fearless and faced the enemy in war and later on the streets of Toronto, had a gentle, caring heart. I don't remember Vic without a cigarette and when others told him it was not good for his health, he simply lit another. He long outlived those advisors and I suspect many of his physicians. When our son joined the Force he was as proud as Tom was. He had many stories to recount about being a street cop. His advice to our son when faced with a situation - "Act surprised, say nothing and offer assistance." Vic was the quintessential old time no nonsense copper. He was fair minded, loyal and honest. If there is any fairness in this life then Vic is once again with his true love- Dorothy. I'd like to think he is swapping cop shop tales with Tom and Bill and breaking the rules by lighting up another cigarette.
Farewell, dear friend, Bev MacLeod.
