Dear Drew Family,
I am unable to join you today to pay tribute to M. W. Bro. Ed Drew but wanted to ensure that my thoughts and prayers are with you at this most difficult time. I had the privilege and honour of getting to know Ed in the 90's when I was still a young Mason. That relationship grew over these many years and became one filled with mutual respect and admiration. Ed's interest in my Masonic career was genuine and his pride in my progress in the Craft was always felt.
May the good memories that you all have sustain you through these first dark days and beyond and may you know no more sorrow.
Sincerely,
R. W. Bro. Michael A. Litvak

Dear Ellen-Orr and family,
When I learned of Ed's peaceful passing, memories came flooding back of those many evenings
we chased the moonlight in Ed's car, driving the highways and byways of Southern Ontario,
to visit some of the many Masonic lodges in our district.
The outward journey was almost always "Masonic talk", but when we were homeward bound the atmosphere became more relaxed with Ed leading a sing song which on every journey seemed to include "Shaboom!!"
Not only was he the music conductor but also the director of whatever the impromptu program turned out to be, which always included a quiz! Ed's famous ETA quiz when we had to guess the time we would reach Scotland Road!
Being the driver and therefore controlled the speed we travelled Ed was almost always the winner!
But then, Ed was a winner in every aspect of his life. He was a winner in the person with whom he shared his life in marriage, a winner where his family was concerned, a winner in his chosen profession and in his climbing of Jacob's ladder he won our respect, our admiration and our brotherly and fraternal love.
Deep peace be to you as a family and God willing, Nora and I will be with you on Tuesday .
Cerwyn

Ed was of great assistance in the formation of Friendship Lodge No 729 GRC, a mentor to the 'Consuls' when they formed in 1977 and my Installing Master in 1978. We enjoyed many social events and even when I moved away I encountered a member of 'Drew' Crew' who added to my store of memories of this dedicated and inspiring Mason.
I regret that I will be unable to attend to pay my respects in person, but I offer my deepest sympathy to Ed's family an mourn the loss of a truly great Freemason.

My sincere fraternal condolences to the Drew family on the passing of Edwin. As the years passed I saw Edwin less frequently as we both aged and I moved from Kingston to Ancaster and subsequently became confined to a wheelchair. Over the years we shared numerous chats on his many visits to Queen's Lodge and other masonic functions. Unfortunately, I am unable to attend Edwin's funeral or visitation but rest assured I will certainly be thinking of him. In his honour I have made a contributing to the Scottish Rite Charitable Foundation. Most sincerely and fraternally, Donald R. Hall, 33* ,PDDGM Frontenac District. .
