Obituary of Mrs. Doreen Carter

Please share a memory of Mrs. Doreen to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Passed away peacefully at the age of 89, surrounded by the love of our family and friends.  The family is very appreciative of the compassionate care and support Mom received from our dear friend Shelley, as well as the staff of Kipling Acres and Scarlett Heights.  Loving mother of Doug, Lori and her husband Greg.  She cherished every moment with, and was so very proud of her grandchildren Shawna-Marie; Leslie and her husband Tom; Braden and his wife Carol along with their daughter Madison; and Devin. Dear sister of Ken and his wife Nancy, and the late Carol; beloved daughter of the late Harry and Mary.   Aunt Doreen will be missed by her nephews and nieces.  Mom will also be missed by her lifelong friends Marg, Helen and the entire Bridge Group – theirs was a very special friendship.  Mom always enjoyed a good game of Bridge and loved to travel but the times spent with family were the most important and special to her.  Mom was a very strong person with a wonderful sense of humour, and great laugh, which she maintained until the very end. She will be missed greatly by all of us.

The family will receive friends at the Ogden Funeral Home on Monday April 2nd  from 6-9 p.m.  Interment at St. John’s Norway Cemetery will take place on Tuesday, April 3 at 10:30 a.m.  A Celebration of Life will begin at 1:00 p.m. in the Ogden Chapel, with a reception to follow.

In lieu of flowers, donations to a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
