Obituary of Mr. Gerald Moore

Please share a memory of Mr. Gerald to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

MOORE, Gerald Berton Gerald (Gerry) was born September 28, 1928 in Wiarton, Ontario. He passed away on March 24, 2018 at Scarborough General Hospital. Son of Berton and Hazel Moore of Wiarton. Gerry will be greatly missed by his wife Jean (Dahl), residing at The Courtyards on Eagleson in Ottawa, his sister Keitha Zimmer of Wiarton and his children Dennis (wife Julia) of Kingston, Wendy Moore (Daniels) (partner John Miller) of Ottawa, son Andrew (deceased October, 2017) and grandchildren Austin, Jocelyn, Ava and Shelby. Gerry enjoyed a 54-year-long career for McNamara Marine Construction, eventually becoming Vice President. Decades were spent in the Maritimes building bridges, causeways and docks. Gerry loved time spent near the water whether working or simply fishing. Gerry's amazing memory for detail made him a fascinating storyteller. He was genuine, generous, optimistic, modest, true to his word and loved music, art, nature, his family and all of our pets dearly. The family will recieve friends at the Ogden Funeral Home, 4164 Sheppard Ave. E., Agincourt (east of Kennedy Rd.), on Wednesday, March 28th from 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. A Memorial Service will follow in the Ogden Chapel at 12:00 p.m. Donations in his memory can be made to Diabetes Canada or to the charity of your choice.
