My love and thoughts are with you on this day.
Al, it was such a pleasure meeting you & Joan, I know we only met a few times, but each time I came away smiling. I remember your gentle eyes and smile, what a treasure you were for your family.

You are both now shining stars in the night sky and will always be in the hearts of those that loved you.
Joanne, Gary, Matthew, Dylan & Margie may you find comfort in the wonderful memories that you created.

Al, I wish you would have known how proud I was of you, everyone I spoke to knows about you. I tell everyone about you, my friends, my family, my co-workers. To me, you were one of the most extraordinary people I have ever met. Al, to my sons, you are #1. They will never meet finer people than Joan and you. I would like to thank you for showing them so much love and encouragement and for showing them how a man should conduct himself. I could never hold a candle to you Al, and I will never have a problem being #2 to you. Al, thank you for your service to your country. You know how much I love Canada, and you serving makes it even more special. Al, please give our love to Joan. Till we meet again, I raise a toast to my good friend and father in-law MR. ALLAN JOSEPH MATTASON. Love, Gary

On behalf of the Ashberry family, I would like to say how saddened we all were to learn of Al's passing. Both Al and Joan were wonderful neighbours to my mother and father, Joyce and Gord Ashberry. We were so fortunate to have them living next door to us for so many years. They were both kind and caring people who also enjoyed a good laugh. Janet Ashberry

Dad, no words can describe the loss I feel. I miss you so much, you are the sweetest most caring person I know. I will miss my visits to you and our talks everyday which were so very special. We would talk about the leafs, and you would say there doing much better this year, I think they will make the playoffs. Dad I promise to continue to cheer them on for you. You leaving me has left an empty hole in my heart but I am so very fortunate to have a lot of wonderful memories which I will always cherish. You were truly a wonderful father and I will never forget your kindness and generosity. You are now reunited with mom. I know how much you have missed her. Give mom my love. I love you so much. Rest In Peace Dad.

Grampa you truly were the best role model a boy could ever look up to.
They say nobody is perfect , but nobody will ever tell me otherwise when it comes to you.
I can only hope and dream to be half the man you were. You had the most loving soul, and the epitome of a gentleman.
I am so privileged to have known you and even more so , to be your grandson.
We will all miss you more than words can explain, I love you Grampa . Until we meet again, Rest In Peace.

I'll miss walking into a room and being greeted by your larger than life smile. You raised a beautiful, loving family and your memory will live on through all of them. Enjoy a glass of red wine (or two) as you watch over them. Love, Amanda.

Dad, I have dreaded the day you would leave me. You are my rock. I have never met a kinder, gentler, loving human being than you. You truly are one of kind. We will miss you every weekend when we are watching sports (you no longer have to secretly cheer for the Leafs) and you will have to teach Mom how to play crib. Dad, not only were you the best father a girl could ask for, but you were also the best Grampa. There truly are no words to describe the love and admiration the boys have for you. You have left us all very empty, but thankfully we have lots of memories to fill our hearts. Under your guidance and watchful eyes, Matthew and Dylan have grown into the wonderful young men they are today, they were fortunate enough to have had the best teacher. I hope we helped contribute to making your life special, that was always our goal. If we can't have you with us, I am glad you have been reunited with Mom. Say hi to her and send her our love.
I love you so much and will forever be Daddy's little girl, Joanne
