I am saddened over the loss of my friend Felicia. We met in college and immediately became good friends, we spent many of nights talking on the phone, and we hung out after work and enjoyed life. She eventually moved to Canada with her daughter to start a new life, but we still maintained our friendship.
She was a Godly, vibrant, fun loving and a beautiful person inside and out and she will forever be in my heart.

“An Expression of Comfort to the Family of Mrs. Felicia Alexander-Butler”
Dear Family,
It is with deep sorrow that we, the Pastor, Officers, and Members of First Baptist Church of Crown Heights extend our heartfelt condolences to you, the family of Mrs. Felicia Alexander-Butler who is the daughter of our own Sis. Jessie Waters. Certainly, it will be difficult to pick up and move on with your lives, and while we must mourn this loss of a loved one we do not, however, mourn like those who have no hope. In Christ Hope springs eternal and “because He lives we can face tomorrow” knowing that while we watch for the myriad ways God blesses us, we have the assurance of knowing that He is always watching over those of us yet in the land of the living.
In the Gospel according to John 14:1-2, Jesus says, “let not your hearts be troubled; ye believe in God, believe in me also. In my Father’s house there are many mansions; if it were not so I would have told you.” In this, we know that even as sadness and heavy hearts seem inescapable at this moment, we have the comfort of knowing that our dearly departed is in a better place; a place that Jesus promised to prepare for her. We, each of us, must endeavor to live our lives to the fullest holding to God’s unchanging hand.
If there is anything First Baptist Church can do, please do not hesitate to call on us. In the mighty and matchless name of Jesus, the Christ, Amen.
