Obituary of Mrs. Mary Rajan
RAJAN, Mary (nee Laxmiah) passed away peacefully on Saturday February 10, 2018, in her sleep at home surrounded by her children, in her 92nd year. Mary was predeceased by her husband of 33 years John Sigamoney Thiaga Rajan in 1987, parents-in-law John & Annamal Sigamoney, brother-in-law Chandra Sekaran. Deeply mourned by her children Andrew, Christopher, Doris, and Evangeline, daughter-in-laws Chuckie and Winnie, son-in-laws Orette, Brian, Pierre; 11 grandchildren: Daniel, Jasmine, Januri Rajan; Aaron and Amita Rajan; Cara, Kayle, Bren and Jaek Eastcott; Jordan and Jade Williams. Loving family Regina and Priscilla Sekaran; William and Vanarose Sachi, Anita, Oleg, Anya, Nadjya, Belinda, David & Taryn. Born in Annasaram, India near Hyderabad, Mary trained as a nurse at Christian Medical College (CMC) in Tamil Nadu where she met her husband. Mary emigrated to the U.S. in 1958 to join her husband who was studying there. She worked as a Registered Nurse for 45 years in three countries: CMC (India), Chicago, Illinois (USA) and in Toronto (Canada). Charities Mary supported are Christian Blind Mission (CBM), World Vision Canada & CMC Vellore, India. Viewing will be at Ogden’s Funeral Home (4164 Sheppard Ave. E, Scarborough, 416-293-5211) on Thursday February 15 between 5-9pm. Funeral services will be on Friday February 16 at Knox United Church (Sheppard Ave. E. & Midland Ave. Scarborough) at 12 noon. Interment to follow at St Margaret in the Pines Cemetery (4130 Lawrence Ave. E. west of Morningside Ave. Scarborough).
