I am so fortunate to have known Marian from when I was ten years old. I joined the junior choir in 1970 at St. Andrew's Church, where Marian was the organist, and Frank the choir director. What a formidable team they were! Marian took me under her wing, and taught me how to play the organ. She always had high expectations, but taught with encouragement and support. She had an incredible work ethic. Because of her, I was able to have many organist jobs which helped support me through school and beyond. I am so thankful to have known her over the years, and I will always carry with me her incredible love of music and hard work. There was nothing better than seeing her beautiful smile if she was pleased after a lesson. She truly was a special and amazing person.
My thoughts are with her family in this sad time of goodbye.
