To the Matthew family
I would like to take this opportunity to extend and express my deepest condolences for the loss of a beloved friend and colleague Mike.
Mike and I worked with each other for almost a decade. He was a mentor, guide, and an inspirational person. From the first days of the high profile uniform at Malvern town centre to the days of Mike wearing his shinny green suit. They are some of my fondest memories of his image.
However, nothing can compare to the memory of his overall being. A man of compassion, comedy, dignity, and integrity. Only the finest qualities God could've shared with this exceptional mortal human being. The unfortunate part was he was mortal. Now, his immortal life commences with God!
In the words of my Father Xavier. "The house of God is a house filled with many rooms. Mike has now accepted his reservation in the house of God. " May God watch over his family at this sorrowful time of need. May Mr. Michael Matthew eternally rest.

My dearest Michael. I loved you for many years but unfortunately our paths took us in a different direction. I knew you as a compassionate man, who would go to the end of the world for his children -Dale, Gail, Brett , Marvin and Darlene. Many can only dream of having a relationship like the one I had with you...You were the best dad ever...I have so many great memories that i would forever cherish.....i wish you were here...last Sunday we spoke you sad "You
know i would always love you ok princess"...those were your last words to me......i can't remember even one time we were upset with each other....you had me involved in every aspect of your life....a relationship that those whose hearts were filled with jealousy hate and deceit would soon make it their agenda to destroy...the last seven years of my life has been like a nightmare as I could only watch helplessly as your memory loss was used as a ploy to destroy the relationship that you had with your children, me especially....I am deeply saddened and forever destroyed...I can only pray and hold on to my belief that God will see me and my siblings through.....Go and rest now dad....you did well ....last year those days that i spent with you, day and night at the rehab, when i went back to Trinidad I couldn't understand how being at a rehab could be fulfilling to someone but i realised i so wanted to take care of you....i prayed day and night that things would work out so you would return to Trinidad that i could take care of you, the same way I took care of my mother, but God had a different plan.....Thank you God for givng me two great parents.....I pray that they are sitting with you and that we will meet again.

Michael Ruthven Matthew lived a fun-filled life and fell short of his 72nd birthday by one month.
We who have had the privilege to be either family or friend, and who have grown up with him; gone to school with him; played with him; worked with him; and just plain enjoyed having him around; will miss him tremendously. After all, who can forget the 'one and only' Michael Ruthven Matthew.
As part of the family circle, I can just imagine how those who have been close to him would be feeling at this time; and I extend to them, wherever they may be, my sincerest condolences on his passing.
May he rest in peace!
