Obituary of Mrs. Martha Lawrence

LAWRENCE, Martha Anne 94, of Toronto, Ontario passed away peacefully at Nisbet Lodge, Toronto on January 2, 2018. Martha was born in Toronto on July 24, 1923 to her father, Thomas Goodwin Stewart and her mother, Ina Marjorie Stewart. She was predeceased by her devoted husband Stanley Thomas Lawrence who passed away at 85 on February 26, 2009. Martha is survived by her loving children Anne Elizabeth Lawrence and Edward Thomas Lawrence. Martha led a vibrant and full life as a homemaker. She had many hobbies; being a Green Thumb gardener, superb seamstress and avid reader. Martha's love of animals was unsurpassed throughout her lifetime giving a loving home to numerous cats and dogs. In addition, Martha temporarily worked part time in Accounts at the Albert Britnell Book Shop and on the switchboard at the Granite Club. A celebration of Martha's life will be held on Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at the Ogden Funeral Home at 4164 Sheppard Ave. East, Toronto. Visitation will be at 1:00 p.m., then the funeral service at 2:00 p.m. followed by a reception. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Alzheimer Society of Canada will be greatly appreciated
