Obituary of Mr. Nicomedes Tugbang Palma

Nicomedes “Nick” T. Palma peacefully passed away on January 2nd, 2018 in the loving embrace of his family. Beloved husband, endearing brother, loving uncle/Ninong and adoring Lolo, Nick was born on June 1, 1947 in Iloilo, Philippines. In the Philippines, Nick’s love for music came alive as a lead singer for touring bands. Modelling his style after the King of Rock’n’Roll, Nick was given the title “Elvis Presley of the Philippines”. He came to Toronto in 1975 and continued to share his love of music. Nick recently retired in 2017 as a proud member of Owens Corning where he worked as a machine operator for over 20 years. He was truly dedicated and committed to helping his family and friends. Nick also loved joking around, singing, dancing like Elvis, playing the guitar, providing voice lessons, collecting gadgets, spending time in his garden, watching sports, making films and spending time with his grandchildren.

Beloved husband of Daisy for 27 years; endearing brother of the late Anacleto and Norma, Lydia, Asila and the late Roberto, Estela, the late Nicanor Jr., Evangeline and Anacleto, the late Amando and Rowena, and their families (Palma, Monserrat and Ordinario families); endearing brother-in-law of the late Myrna, Fred, Zaida and Vivian, and their families (Lumampao, Santos, Revivis and Hart families); loving uncle/Ninong to all of his nieces and nephews; adoring Lolo to his angelic grandchildren. Nick will be fondly remembered by all of his family and friends.

Visitations will take place at Ogden Funeral Home (4164 Sheppard Avenue East, Scarborough) on Friday January 5th from 5PM to 9PM.

Funeral mass will be held at St. Thomas the Apostle Roman Catholic Church (14 Highgate Drive, Markham) on Saturday January 6th at 10AM.

Nick will be laid to rest at Highland Memory Gardens (33 Memory Gardens Lane, Willowdale).
