Obituary of Robert Jones

Please share a memory of Robert to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Robert Louis Jones (April 15, 1923- Oct 31, 2017) passed away at home peacefully at the wonderful age of 94, with family by his side. Loving husband to Dixie; father to Bryn (Nancy), Ken (Olga), Robert Jr. (Teresa), and Jodi (Paul); beloved grandfather to Melissa (Jeremy), Michael (Amanda), Emma, Taylor, Owen, and Alex, and great-grandfather to Ella, Rylan, Ava, and Nolan.  Bob will be missed by his extended family in England and Australia, and by the many wonderful friends he made throughout his long life. Born in Woolwich (London) and raised in Brixton, he lived through the blitz, eventually joined the RAF, got his flight training in Canada, and later served in India. After the war, he received his CA and took an employment opportunity that brought him to Toronto to join Glaxo Canada. After a very successful career in finance at Glaxo (GSK), he retired in 1988 and travelled the world with Dixie, living life to it’s fullest. His later life was filled with the joy of being a grandparent and a great grandparent. Donations may be made to the Aphasia Institute www.aphasia.ca which was instrumental in Bob’s recovery after a stroke.
