So saddened to hear the news of your loss. It was a privilege to be one of Alan's successors at St. Margaret's, where he was much loved. His legacy included empowering the lay members of the church and training them in the pastoral skills in which he himself excelled. It was a highlight for the congregation (and a great help to me!), the years he came back to fill in for me during my summer break. God's peace be with you as you mourn your loss.

My dear Marilyn, Amy and Mike
I have been thinking of you and your families as I heard the news of Alan's passing. Such good memories at St. Tim's and in the rectory. The crazy things we all did and the amazing spirit Alan had. He was the one that started the Sermon in Songs that the 53rd Musicians started to take on the road after being at St. Tim's. I remember his smile, his laugh and his toughness at Vestry meetings. I want to let you know you're in my thoughts today as you say good bye to a formidable spirit, father, grandfather and partner.
