Obituary of Lorraine Chen

Lorraine Lynda Chen, age 63, passed away peacefully surrounded by family at her home in Ajax, Ontario on Saturday September 2nd, 2017.  She was born on January 7, 1954 in Kolkata, India to Kenneth and Gertrude Chea. Lorraine married Jack Chen on January 28th, 1977 in Kolkata.  Lorraine worked as an administrative assistant with various different organizations (ITC, Sheraton, Sun Life Financial, etc.) displaying an incredible ability for office management, administration and planning.  Lorraine lived life enjoying the simple pleasures; spending time with family, friends, cooking good food and watching the Blue Jays.  Lorraine possessed an incredible faith in Jesus and lived in ways to honor Him in every aspect of her life!

Lorraine is survived by her husband Jack; brother Clifton (Shirley); two sisters, Joanita (Patrick) and Bernadette (Ah Yu); her three children, Jim (Beatrice), Karen  and Kathryn (Richard); and her three grandchildren, Liam, Ethan and Bethany.

Family, friends and others who wish to join us in honoring her life are invited to the funeral at Morningstar Christian Fellowship (7601 Sheppard Ave. E) at 10 am on Saturday September 16, 2017.  Visitation will take place at Ogden Funeral Home (4164 Sheppard Ave. E) from 5 pm to 9 pm on Friday September 15, 2017 and at Morningstar Christian Fellowship from 9 am to 10 am on Saturday September 16, 2017.

The family has requested that in lieu of flowers donations be made to KHRIS, the Kolkata slum project that was close to Lorraine's heart.
