Obituary of Jay Stewart
Mr. Jay Edward Stewart, of Toronto, Ontario, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 2, 2017 at the age of 51 after a 10 month battle with cancer. He is now with our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. Jay was born to parents Jean and Robert Stewart on July 12, 1965 in Toronto, Ontario. He grew up as the younger of two brothers but was surrounded by his six female cousins Mary, Cindy, Heather, Patti, Dianne and Wendy. Jay attended Earl Haig Public School, Earl Beatty Public School, and Danforth Technical School. In 1993, he married his McDonald’s sweetheart, Stacey Sandiford.
Jay’s work history took him through several industries including: McDonald’s Restaurants of Canada as a Manager, Six Nine Wings as Owner/Operator, Wells Fargo/ADT as a Customer Service Representative and Account Manager, Primerica Financial Services as a Financial Representative, ExpoReady as Account Manager, and Amre Supply as Account Manager. In recent years, Jay rekindled a passion for reading and researching and soon discovered he wanted to become a professional writer. He began that pursuit and was an Ontario Writers’ Conference participant and a proud member of WCDR (Writers’ Community of Durham Region). Jay is survived by his son, Jayden McAllister; his wife Stacey; and his brother, Ken. A remembrance gathering/visitation will be held at Ogden Funeral Homes (4164 Sheppard Avenue East, Toronto) on Friday, July 14 between the hours of 5:00 and 9:00 p.m. A memorial service celebrating Jay’s life will be held at Agincourt Pentecostal Church (2885 Kennedy Road, Toronto) on Saturday, July 15 at 10:00 a.m.
