RUTH SLATER (nee MASSEY) Passed away comfortably on February 13th in her 97th year at Maple Health Centre. Beloved wife to the late Roy Slater who passed away in his 80th year in 1994. Loving mother of Greg and his wife, Nancy, and Paul and his wife, Barbara. Grandma Ruth will be sadly missed by her 6 grandchildren; Andrew, Alison, Katie, Michael, Christopher and Jennifer. Ruth is survived by her brother Ron Massey (Peggy). Ruth and Roy loved their life together, especially at the Stoney Lake cottage with family and friends. They also developed wonderful lasting friendships while enjoying winters in Florida. Mom is to be admired for her strength and her resilience, especially when we knew she was suffering but would never complain. The Slater family would like to thank the staff at Maple Health Centre for their kindness and care. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Diabetes Association of Canada, Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society.
