Ellen Helen Pendenque, affectionately known as “Ada” and “Mother Ellen” was 95 when she passed away peacefully in her sleep early on Friday morning, February 3rd, 2017.
Ellen was born to the late William and Octinia Charles on April 15th, 1921 in Grand Bay, Dominica. She married the late George Pendenque and spent most of her life in Dominica before becoming a Toronto resident in her later years.
Ellen gave her life to God over 60 years ago and was faithfully dedicated to His cause. She was an active member of The Church of God 7th Day in Dominica and Toronto and will be remembered as being passionate about helping others and making a difference in their lives.
Ellen is survived by two children, Jeanne Elwin and Hillary George Pendenque; son-in-law Vincent Elwin; 8 grand-children, 18 great, grand-children and 10 great, great, grand-children; 3 siblings and numerous nieces, nephews, friends and church family.
The celebration of the life of Ellen Helen Pendenque will take place on Thursday, February 9th, 2017 at Ogden Funeral Homes, 4164 Sheppard Avenue East at 10:30am. Interment will be at Christ the King Cemetery, 7770 Steeles Ave. East, Markham.
