Obituary of Larry Hing-Kai Chen

DR. LARRY HING KAI CHEN On the evening of Sunday, January 22, 2017, Dr. Larry Hing Kai Chen passed away peacefully at the age of 69 at Mount Sinai Hospital with his family by his side. Beloved husband of the late Irene Wai Yi Chen. After graduating from the University of Toronto Engineering, followed by Medicine, he devoted his life to helping others. His legacy is described as a life dedicated to his family and the treatment and counseling of his patients at his Roncesvalles family practice, which is now in the current care of his son. Furthermore, he loved being a member of the Shriners and was always giving to multiple charities in need. His legacy continued through the success of his children Edmund Chen (Melissa Lai) and Jennifer Chen (Peter Ta) and his grandchildren Victoria and Olivia. Visitation will be held February 4th from 9:00 to 11:30 a.m. at Ogden Funeral Home, 4164 Sheppard Avenue East, Scarborough. A service will follow at 12 p.m. in the chapel. Burial will be held at Mount Hope Catholic Cemetery, 305 Erskine Avenue, Toronto, where Dr. Chen will finally rest in peace with his wife. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made out to the Mon Sheong Foundation, www.monsheong.org, specifically to Long-Term Care (D'Arcy Home for the Aged) in honour of Dr. Larry Hing Kai Chen.
