GEORGE, Lloyd Henry – Passed away peacefully at the age of 96 on December 5, 2016 at the Sunnybrook Hospital Veterans Centre (K2C wing). Predeceased by his beloved wife Jacoba George (nee Webb Volmer). Predeceased by his parents; Henry and Frances George and his brother; Leonard George and his sister; Thelus George. Will be sadly missed by his sister-in-law; Doris George and his nephews; Glen George and William Verschuur. Will be sadly missed by his dear friend; Jacky Ford and her children; Mary-Ann, Hank and Tom and their families. When Lloyd returned from over seas after serving in WWII with the 4th Princess Louise Dragoon Guards he started a 37 year career with the Toronto Transit Commission. The family wishes to thank Dr. Matthews, the nursing staff, care givers and volunteers on the K2C wing at the Sunnybrook Hospital Veteran’s Centre where Lloyd resided for the past 6 years. Visitation to be held Wednesday, December 14, 2016 at the OGDEN FUNERAL HOME, 4164 Sheppard Ave. East, Agincourt (east of Kennedy Rd.) between 12-1 p.m. Funeral service to follow in the chapel of the funeral home at 1 p.m. Private interment. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian National Institute for the Blind (CNIB) or to L’Arche Daybreak.
