Obituary of George Henry Fern

Fern, G. Robert H. (Bob) On Friday November 4th, Bob passed peacefully away just short of his 88th birthday in a Toronto hospital with his loving family by his side. A long time Scarborough resident, he is survived by the love of his life, his wife Florence, the three daughters he was so proud of, Susan (John), Carol (Dan) and Patty (Dave), and the four grandchildren he cherished, Holly, Kelly, Johnathan and Christopher. Bob was a proud graduate of McMaster University where he earned a masters degree in chemistry and physics. These studies led to a long-career with imperial Oil Limited where he worked with industry associations P.A.C.E. and the O.P.A. to contribute to important science-based environmental legislation. After retiring from Imperial Oil, Bob continued working in environmental consulting for a number of years. Bob’s open, and often humorous, demeanor allowed him to form valued, long-lasting business and personal friendships. He will be sorely missed by all his friends and his family. On Wed Nov. 9th, friends are invited to Ogden Funeral Home at 4164 Sheppard Ave. East for visitation from 2:00 to 4:00 pm and again from 7:00 to 9:00 pm. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Thurs. Nov 10th at the same location.
