Obituary of Werner Gerber

In loving memory of Werner Robert Gerber August 14, 1936 – October 5, 2016 Devoted husband of 57 years to Dorothea (nee Scherer). Loving father to Veronica, Robert (Mary) and Andrew (Calley), and Opa to his grandchildren Abigail (Benjamin), Samuel, Daniel (Cassidy), Joseph, Joshua, Benjamin, and his great grandchildren Bowen, Wyatt, and Anora. Dear brother to Ann (Henry Christinck), Herbert (Inge, deceased), Klaus (Valerie), the late Bernie, Gerhard (Linda), and the late Frieder. Werner had a real passion for people, with a special concern for their eternal destiny. This love of others compelled him to document examples from his own life – these are contained in his five-page brochure entitled ‘Lest We Forget.’ He shared his story of God’s Providence with people wherever he went; his goal was for as many people as possible to consider their eternal destiny and eventually join him in Heaven where he is now rejoicing in the presence of the Lord Jesus Christ, our only Hope and Saviour. This Bible promise sustained Werner and was prominently placed at the foot of his bed where he could read it before falling asleep and when awakening. ‘Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’ Isaiah 41:10 Visitation will be held at Ogden Funeral Home, 4164 Sheppard Avenue East, Toronto on Saturday October 8th from 4 pm to 6 pm. Graveside service for the family to be held out of town at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, 344 Zadow Road, Golden Lake, ON.
