BRAIN, Gideon Joseph "Red" —Retired Security Guard of Simpsons, Retired Fire Capt. of City of Toronto Fire Dept. for 25 years World War II Veteran, Bomber Command 408 Goose Squadron. Peacefully on August 23, 2016, at Sunnybrook Hospital in his 94th year. Husband of the late Phyllis Adelaide (Plaxton). Loving Father of Barry and Beverley. Proud grandfather to Kris and Cheryl, Steve and Serge and devoted great-grandfather to Oliver and Charlotte. Family and Friends are invited at the Ogden Funeral Home, 4164 Sheppard Ave. East, on Thursday, September 1st from 7-9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation is welcome. The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to all doctors and caring nurses at the Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre as well as the the loving staff at Sunnybrook's K Veterans Wing, for their excellent care and compassion.
