THE REVEREND CANON BRIAN KENNETH PRIDEAUX Passed away peacefully at St. Michael's Hospital on February 8, 2016, surrounded by his family. Beloved husband of Lorna for 48 years. Greatly missed by his children and their families: Kimberly and Alana; Pamela; Christopher, Barbara and Francis; Jonathan and Melissa. Older brother to the late Geoffrey (Wendy), Barbara (Andy), Valerie (Brian) and Clive (Mary). Brian was born in England and immigrated to Montreal as a young child. He was an Air Force Cadet and a devoted older brother. Brian had a Bachelor of Arts from Concordia University and a Bachelor of Divinity from McGill University, where he and Lorna met in Hebrew class. He later received a Master of Theology from Wycliffe College in Toronto. During his time in the Diocese of Montreal, he was a volunteer firefighter and was involved for many years in the Scouting movement. Brian and his family moved to Toronto in 1982, where he worked as the Ecumenical Officer at the Anglican Church of Canada. He travelled extensively in that role, including visits to Kenya, Trinidad and Tobago and Rome. Back to parish life after his time at Church House, Brian was Rector at St. John's Norway and also served at St. Andrew's, Scarborough, St. Timothy's, Agincourt, Church of the Epiphany and St. Barnabas', Chester. His most recent role after retirement was as an Honorary Associate at St. Jude, Wexford. Brian enjoyed stamp collecting, reading, anything to do with history or WWII related. He was a friend, mentor, leader and inspiration to many. He was devoted to and much loved by his family and will be sorely missed. Progressive Supranuclear Palsy is a rare neurodegenerative disease with no cure and Brian fought stubbornly and with dignity until the end. Visitation for friends and family is on Wednesday, February 10, 2016, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Ogden Funeral Home, 4164 Sheppard Avenue East. Funeral will be held on Thursday, February 11th at 2 p.m., with visitation beginning at 1 p.m., at the Church of St. Jude, Wexford, 10 Howarth Avenue, Toronto. All who wish to celebrate Brian's life are welcome. In lieu of flowers, donations to CurePSP Canada or Church of St. Jude, Wexford, would be appreciated by the family.
