1923 - 2016
With sadness in our hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved mother and grandmother Aimée Shakra.She is survived by her son Selim (Rosalie) Shakra, her daughter May Shakra Ohlhoff, her son-in-law Ravi Girdhar, her nephew Adel (Rollande Dorais) Mirshak, her niece Aida Mirshak and her brother-in-law Tom Moriarty. She is also survived by her grandchildren Neil and Samir (Jessica Chang) Girdhar, Anne-Marie (Bart Verheijen) and Christina Ohlhoff and Michael (Dina) and Jennifer Shakra; as well as her grandnephews Paul (Jessica Brochu) and Robert Mirshak and grandniece Nadine (Chris Hardt) Ishak.
She was predeceased by her daughter Mona Girdhar, her husband Amin Selim Shakra, her sisters Renée (Amin) Mirshak and Georgette Moriarty. The Family will be receiving friends at the Ogden Funeral Home (4164 Sheppard Ave. East, east of Kennedy Rd., Scarborough) Friday, February 5th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Barnabas Catholic Church (10 Washburn Way, Scarborough) Saturday, February 6th at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
