Obituary of Joyce MacDonald
Please share a memory of Joyce to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
We have lost the matriarch of our family, on Monday, November 16, 2015. A beautiful and smart woman, who loved her family dearly. She was the loving and tolerant wife of the late David Gordon MacDonald. Cherished mom to Craig (Sonia) and Kevan. Doting grandmother to her "perfect" grandchildren Matthew (Melanie), Steven and Brian and her great-granddaughter Leah. Survived by her brother Kelly and sisters Sheilah (John Jamieson) and Shirley (Jim Moore). Predeceased by her brothers Sherman, Clayton, Doug, Hughie and Ross. Joyce was a Teacher in life and was retired from the Scarborough Board of Education. She loved to teach and children brought her great joy. She continued to teach and help children, long after retirement with the Later Literacy Program she helped to create. She enjoyed the sport of curling and a good game of bridge. Joyce was a member of Knox United Church, Agincourt. A selfless caregiver, who was capable in all regards. She was a perfect, wonderful mom. Rest in peace, we love you. Friends will be received by the family at the Ogden Funeral Home, 4164 Sheppard Avenue East, Agincourt, on Friday, November 20th from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. A Memorial Service will be held in the Ogden Chapel at 12 p.m. Donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation are greatly appreciated.
