Obituary of Hugh Miller

MILLER, George Hugh - After a brief, courageous battle with cancer, Hugh left this world too soon to be with his Lord on September 15, 2015. Beloved husband and best friend of Susan Noda. Cherished father to sons Jeff (Sara), Andy (Monica) and Bill (Anita). Loving step-father to Jaime (Sam) and Derek (Sheena). Devoted grandfather to Brynn, Liam, Noah, Owen, William, Autumn, Lindsay, Georgia, Addison, Jayce and Braden. He will be greatly missed by his sisters Kathleen (Steve) and Anne (Frank), his adoring nieces and nephews and his dog, Mookie. Hugh was a retired Math Teacher with the Toronto District School Board, having spent the majority of his career at Stephen Leacock Collegiate Institute. He was an exceptional athlete who until recently played golf, hockey and pole vaulting (in which he competed in many Masters competitions). His love of life and his desire to make a positive difference made him stand out as a great man amongst men. He has touched so many lives, was much loved and will be greatly missed. Visitation to take place at the Ogden Funeral Home (Midland and Sheppard) on Thursday, September 17th from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. and on Friday, September 18th from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Memorial Service to celebrate Hugh's life will take place at the Japanese Gospel Church, 301 Silver Star Blvd., Scarborough, on Saturday, September 19th at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate a donation to The Salvation Army, The Toronto Humane Society or the Canadian Cancer Society.
