R. L. (LORNE) BERGGREN P.Eng Lorne Berggren passed away peacefully at Baycrest April 27, 2015 surrounded by his family. Born in Pembroke in 1932 and a graduate of University of New Brunswick, Lorne was a highly successful and respected businessman. He was a noted pioneer in the North American plastics industry. Lorne will be lovingly remembered by his wife of nearly 60 years, Joan, daughter Cynthia Brooks (Dan), son Don Berggren (Karen), brother Don Berggren and grandchildren Leah Garvin (Dennis), Emily Berggren, Lauren Cleator (Scott) and Meredith Berggren. For their compassionate care and kindness, the family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks to the nurses of St. Elizabeth Society, Dr. A. J. Kirshen and Dr. Daphna Grossman and the staff of Baycrest. The family will receive friends at the Ogden Funeral Home, 4164 Sheppard Ave. E., Agincourt (east of Kennedy Rd.), on Thursday from 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service to be held in the Ogden Chapel on Friday at 12 p.m. Cremation. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Baycrest Palliative Care or The Lung Association.
