MARTIN, Robert Frank "Bob" - Bob died peacefully at Scarborough General Hospital on April 8, 2015 in his 82nd year. Son of Jeannie Shepherd and Robert Martin. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years Deenie. He was a loving father of Greg (Christine), Alyson (Andreas), Kent (Steve) and Michelle. He will be truly missed by his grandchildren Sarah, Zoe and Liam Martin; Tye (predeceased), Cesan and Alix Martin-Asmus; Haley and Carley Guthrie; sister Corrine Buckley (Don); brother-in-law Rick Baigrie (Barb); and caring uncle to several nieces and nephews. Bob was an educator for both the Scarborough and Metropolitan Toronto Boards of Education. Longtime member of the Council for Exceptional Children (CEC). He enjoyed life to the fullest and influenced many people along the way both personally and professionally. He enjoyed every chance to go camping, play bridge, tennis, fish, snorkeling, run marathons and travel with family and friends. Bob dealt with Parkinson's Disease and recently battled with cancer. He and his family are grateful for the care given by doctors, specialists, his personal support worker and the excellent Palliative Care Team at Scarborough General Hospital. Visitation will take place on Tuesday, April 14th from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. The funeral will be held Wednesday, April 15th, 2 p.m., at Ogden Funeral Home located at 4164 Sheppard Avenue East at Midland Avenue, 416-293-5211. In lieu of flowers, a donation made to a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
