MOORE, Velma Ellen (nee Merricks) - June 4, 1916 - February 28, 2015 This beloved lady left us quietly at Scarborough Grace Hospital, in her 99th year. Loving mother to David and his wife Janice; cherished grandmother to Craig (Robin), Brian (Robyn), Lori and Ryan (Sarah) and adored Great-Ma to thirteen great- grandchildren; predeceased by her husband Stephen, daughter Gail and son-in-law Murray. How do you sum up a life so well lived, other than to say Velma had a great love for animals, bridge and the Toronto Blue Jays; though above all else, her greatest love was her family, as she is ours. We would like to thank the kind people at Shepherd Terrace Retirement Living and the Scarborough Grace Hospital for the care they provided to Velma. Visitation will take place on Saturday, March 7, 2015 at Ogden Funeral Home, 4164 Sheppard Ave. E., Scarborough, ON, at 12 p.m., followed by a Memorial Service at 1 p.m. A private interment to take place at a later date. In honour of Velma's love of animals, memorial contributions may be made to the Toronto Humane Society.
