Obituary of Robert Stitt

STITT, Dr. Robert 'Bob' - Passed away at The Scarborough General Hospital on February 7, 2015 at the age of 78. Bob was born on July 7, 1936 in Thunder Bay, Ontario. A loving husband, father and grandfather, Bob is survived by his wife Holly, children Suzanne (Rob), Jennifer (Brian), Tom (Tiina), John (Erin) and Geoff (Jill) and loving grandchildren Rachel and Jaimie McIntyre, Robyn and Daniel Wilson, Tomi and Niko Taipale, Amelia, Oliver and Emmett Straus-Stitt. He graduated medical school from the University of Toronto in 1961 and completed his fellowship in Surgery in 1967. He was passionate about his career at The Scarborough Hospital in surgery and the Breast Clinic. He had a very gentle manner with his patients and was respected by many. He loved his family deeply and was proud of all his children and grandchildren. He will be most missed for his wonderfully practical and pragmatic outlook, as well as the enjoyment of the simple things in life. Visitation is scheduled at the Ogden Funeral Home (4164 Sheppard Avenue East, Scarborough) for Wednesday, February 11th from 5-9 p.m. Funeral will be held on Thursday, February 12th at 2:30 p.m. in the Ogden chapel with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that those wishing to make a donation contribute to the Alzheimer Society or the Breast Clinic at The Scarborough Hospital. Bob will be greatly missed. Know that you will forever be in our hearts.
