EDWIN GEORGE SLATER On Friday, February 6, 2015, in his 80th year, peacefully passed away with his children at his side. Devoted husband of Carol Anne, loving father to Debra (Ray), Gregory, Bradley (Lisa) and Kevin. Beloved Grandpa of Rebecca, Matthew, Heather, Juliana, Daniel and Robert. Cherished Great-Grandpa of Taleah, Emma, Hannah and Brooke. Loyal Bell Canada employee for 41 years, enthusiastic Scout leader for over 30 years, tireless volunteer at Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital for 21 years, serving over 2000 volunteer hours and Big Brother for 3 years. Awarded the Medal of Merit by Scouts Canada and the Ontario Volunteer Service Award. Memorial visitation will take place at the Ogden Funeral Home, 4164 Sheppard Ave. East (east of Kennedy Rd.), Scarborough, on Thursday, February 12th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Memorial Service will be held on Friday, February 13th at 11 a.m. in the Ogden Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations to Holland Bloorview (foundation.hollandbloorview.ca) in Ed's memory would be greatly appreciated.
