LUIGI VANO We will greatly miss our father, Luigi, who passed away on January 4, 2015. He was husband to Dolores (Dora), father to Kathy (Sal) Amenta and Joanne (Nick) Merigliano and grandfather to John Paul. Dad brought his young family to Canada in the spring of 1955 and immediately set out to establish himself in this great country. He worked for many years for the Toronto Catholic School Board and in retirement pursued his passion for gardening and travel. He set an example for everyone of the reward of humility, hard work and devotion to family. Family and friends will be received at the Ogden Funeral Home, 4164 Sheppard Ave. E., Scarborough (east of Kennedy Rd.), on Thursday from 2 - 4 and 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at the Church of St. Lawrence the Martyr, 2210 Lawrence Ave. E., Scarborough (west of Kennedy Rd.) on Friday at 10 a.m. Entombment Westminster Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Luigi's name to the Alzheimer Society or TransCare Community Support Services (1045 McNicoll Ave., Toronto, ON M1W 3W6, 416-750-9885).
