SAWDYK, Walter - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Walter on Sunday, July 6, 2014 just shy of his 92nd birthday at Credit Valley Hospital in Mississauga. Beloved husband for 62 years to his predeceased wife, Lydia. Father of Ihor (Walter) and his wife Karen of Oakville. Adoring grandfather (Dido) to Trish (Dan) and Natalie. Predeceased by his 3 brothers, mother and father in Western Ukraine. Great-grandfather to Alex and our new arrival Annie Coverdale. Uncle to Valerie, David, Ihor and Peter of Arizona, USA; Yuri, Marko, Anna, Peter and Roman Skalko and Vera Bloxham, Australia. Survived by his sister Lesia in Ukraine. He will be deeply missed by his many friends at the Ivan Franko Home in Mississauga and members of his previous Church, St. Anne's in Scarborough. The family will receive friends at the Ogden Funeral Home, 4164 Sheppard Ave. E., Scarborough (West of Midland Ave.) on Tuesday, July 8, 2014 from 6 to 9 p.m., Panachyda at 7 p.m. Funeral Service will be held in the Ogden Chapel on Wednesday, July 9, 2014 at 11 a.m. Interment to follow at York Cemetery.
