RAYMER, Martha Irene - Our precious mom, Martha Irene Raymer (nee Howard) was gently carried to heaven by her loving Lord on Monday, January 27, 2014, peacefully and serenely, in her 89th year, with family by her side. Irene is survived by one daughter Dianne, one son Gord and four grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Ambrose, two sisters Mary and Dorothy and two brothers George and John. Born September 9, 1924 on Danforth Avenue in Toronto, Irene was the daughter of the late Ernest and Edith Howard. During her life, she enjoyed many things that made her happy - church activities, sewing, cooking, gardening, raising dogs and travelling. She had a lovely smile, a sweet and gentle spirit and her family was her defining source of joy. Irene will be especially remembered for her strong witness and unshakable faith in the goodness and greatness of God. Irene fostered many friendships over the years and highly valued her loving relationship with special niece Ruth and husband Leo Beresten. The family will receive friends at Church in the Village, Shepherd Village, 3760 Sheppard Avenue East, Scarborough, Ontario at 12 p.m. Monday, February 3, 2014 followed by a Celebration of Life at 1 p.m. Interment will take place at Dickson Hill Cemetery, Highway 48 N., Markham Township.
