MARY ANN RYAN Passed away on Thursday, October 10, 2013 in her home at Extendicare Rouge Valley in her 94th year. Mary was born on January 10, 1920 in Champney's East, Newfoundland to Job and Sarah Ryan. Step-father Francis Pottle was her Pop. As a young woman Mary immigrated to Toronto. During WWII she joined the RCAF serving as a dietitian. She started her long career at Loblaws in the late 50s and made lifelong friends there. Mary is survived by her loving sister Ethel Boulton. She was predeceased by her dear sister Violet Batson and brothers- in-law Howard Boulton and Roy Batson. She was the beloved Aunt Mary to forty-eight nieces and nephews in four generations. This extended family and her numerous friends were the focus of Mary's life. Mary was a gentle and generous woman who was unfailingly kind to all she met. Her great strength and determination allowed her to conquer the challenges life sent her way. Family and friends will be received at the Ogden Funeral Home, 4164 Sheppard Avenue East, Scarborough, on Wednesday, October 16th from 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. in the Ogden Chapel with visitation 1 hour prior to the service. Interment at Pine Hills Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the CNIB would be greatly appreciated.
