MEZCIEMS, Mathew Richard Nathan - October 8, 1984 to July 18, 2013 BAH (UOIT 2008) JD (Queen's 2012) LLM (UCLA 2013) Died suddenly and unexpectedly at the age of 28. Much beloved son of Karen Mezciems, dearly loved brother of Rebecca Coupland (Chris) and Rachel Donovan (Ryan) and devoted uncle to Adelaide. Predeceased by his father, Dr. Peter E. Mezciems. Mathew was a compassionate, strong and gentle man who had a huge heart and has been taken from us much too soon. He was always a champion for the underdog, believed strongly in and fought for social justice and had a great love of music and a wicked sense of humour. He had a passion for sports, played sledge hockey, downhill skied and was a dedicated fan of the home team, where ever home was at the time. Mathew was a kind soul whose love for his family was always first and foremost in his life and he will be missed forever and always. The family will receive friends at the Ogden Funeral Home, 4164 Sheppard Avenue East, Agincourt, on Monday 5 - 7 p.m. Complete funeral service in the Chapel on Tuesday at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to SickKids Foundation would be appreciated.
