JOSEPH CANNATA Joe passed away peacefully at Extendicare Rouge Valley on December 21, 2012 at the age of 93. Predeceased by his dear wife, Laura (nee Della Gioia). Loving father to Ron (Brenda), Pat Plewman, Janice Garnett (John) and Debbie Christof (Bob). \"Grampa Joe\" to his grandchildren and extended family: Nadine (Michael), Mark (Delena), Steve (Lindsay), Blair, Lisa (Mike), Julie (Charlie), Kathryn, Jessica (Mark), Jenna, Scott (Cristy), Jody and Jennifer (Chris) and his great- grandchildren Matthew, Lauren, Hailey, Tristyn, Caiden, Paige, Carson, Ayden, Daniel, Sophie, Andrew, Dylan, Chloe and Keira. Born in Toronto on July 13, 1919 to Rosario and Concetta Cannata. He was predeceased by his sisters Ann and Kay and brothers George, Tony, Vic, John and Tom. He was a proud veteran of the Canadian Army during WWII, a founding member and past-President of the Wishing Well Lions Club and past-President of the Stephen Leacock Seniors Centre. Special thanks to Dr. Ing and the staff at Extendicare Rouge Valley for their kind care and tolerance for his sense of humour. The family is very grateful to all those who helped with calls and visits. Family and friends may call at the Ogden Funeral Home, 4164 Sheppard Avenue East, Agincourt (east of Kennedy Road), on Thursday, December 27th, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m . A celebration of Joe's life will be held in the Ogden chapel on Friday, December 28th at 11 a.m., followed by a reception lunch. Cremation has taken place and there will be a private interment at Mount Hope Cemetery. Donations to a charity of your choice would be gratefully appreciated.
