EMMER, Brigitte (Rita) - It is with great sadness that the family of Brigitte (Rita) Emmer announces her passing on October 22, 2012, following a brief battle with cancer. She is survived by Rudy, her loving husband of almost 59 years, as well as her children Tom (June), Judy (Neil) and Tim (Fiona). As well, 'Omi' will be missed by her grandchildren Kelly, Christopher, Bradley, Tyler, Scott, Phoebe and Quinn and lovingly remembered by her great-grandchildren Logan, Kayden, Brianna, Austin and Braelyn. Brigitte was the heart of her family. An eternal optimist, she embraced every aspect of her life with an open heart and a strong spirit. Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 27, 2012 from 2-4 p.m. at the Ogden Funeral Home, 4164 Sheppard Ave. E., Scarborough (east of Kennedy Rd.). A service for family and close friends will be held in the Ogden Chapel immediately following the visitation. Private cremation will precede Saturday's service
