CAREW, Ulric Gordon - 75, of Scarborough, Ontario died September 7, 2012 at the Centenary Hospital. Born March 31, 1937 in Georgetown, Guyana, to the late Abel and Ruby Carew, Ulric worked at the General Post Office in Georgetown for 33 years and in 1986 joined his family in Toronto. He loved cricket and horse racing and ardently followed his beloved West Indies cricket team through their highs and lows and can frequently be found at his warm- weather hideaway, the Woodbine Race Track. Ulric is survived by his wife Aloma, 4 children Paul, Glen, Brian and Alison, 9 grandchildren Sean, Tannylee, Niomi, Britney, Timothy, Brandon, Christian, Rachel and Joshua, 2 great-grandchildren Keishanna and Jazara, brothers Desmond of Toronto, Ivan of The Bahamas and sister Barbara of New Jersey, USA. He is resting at the Ogden Funeral Home, 4164 Sheppard East, (east of Kennedy Rd.), where the family will receive visitors on Monday, September 17th from 5 to 9 p.m. A funeral service will be held in the Ogden Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, September 18th at 1 p.m. followed by cremation. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Diabetes Association.
