SZUMLINSKI, Carl Adolph - Retired member of the Metropolitan Toronto Police Services Board, passed away peacefully at Toronto General Hospital on July 7, 2012 at the age of 85 after a year and a half-long battle with vasculitis. Carl is survived by his beloved wife Lorraine, who provided him with love and care for their 41 years of marriage. Carl is also survived by his children Paul and Karen and their spouses Voula and Tod, respectively, who will miss him terribly. Dear grandfather to Eleana and Emily and uncle to many loving nieces and nephews, \"Pop-Pop Linski\" is up in the stars over-looking us all. Carl Szumlinski will be resting at the Ogden Funeral Home, 4164 Sheppard Avenue East (1 block west of Midland), Toronto, on Wednesday, July 11th from 5-9 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Annunciation Parish, 3 Combermere Drive (1 block south of Ellesmere, off Victoria Park), Toronto at 10 a.m. on Thursday, July 12th. Details regarding a reception will be announced following Mass. Special thank you to the staff of St. Michael's Hospital and Bridgepoint Health Care Centre. Donations to Vasculitis Foundation Canada would be appreciated in lieu of flowers.
