Obituary of Mr. Herschell H. Green

Please share a memory of Mr. Herschell to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Herschell Hercoma Green peacefully departed from this world at St. Michael’s
Hospital on the evening of March 7th, 2024. Born on January 12th, 1946 in the lush
parish of St. George, Barbados, Herschell immigrated from his homeland to Canada
in pursuit of his dreams.

While in Canada, Herschell crossed paths with his beloved Rhona, and together they
wove the fabric of over 40 years of marriage until her passing in 2016.
Herschell pursued higher education, culminating in a diploma from George Brown
College, that paved the way for a distinguished career at the Toronto Transit
Commission (TTC). For over three decades, he served as a Stationary Engineer, an
embodiment of dedication until his well-deserved retirement.

Herschell’s hard work bore fruit, affording them a cherished family residence that
multiple generations have called home. Herschell made family the centre of
everything he worked for, a testament to his boundless love and devotion.
Beyond family, he was a pillar of support within his community and a devoted
member of his church, embodying the values of compassion and service.

Left to cherish his memory are his adoring children Florence, Sean, and Jez; his
treasured grandchildren Shane, Shayla, Shanice, Tirez, Teneil, Jonathan, and
Christian; his beloved great-grandchildren Jaidon and Makenna; and his dear
siblings Mavis, Roslyn, Ishmael, Andrew, Anthony, and uncle Kenrick, all of whom
will forever hold dear the memories of his presence.

He is reunited in eternal peace with his beloved wife, Rhona Green, as well as his
beloved mother, Adelle Adatha Green-Walrond, and father, Tommy Taylor
