Obituary of Mrs. Chandra Persaud

Beloved Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother, Chandra Persaud passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 13, 2024.  She was a devoted mother to daughter Raina and son Naresh (wife Denise).  Loving grandmother to Sharene (husband Jak), Deen, Patrick, Nadia (husband Paresh) and Emma.  Cherished great grandmother to Safiya and Omar.  She was predeceased by her eldest son Sohan (wife Shally) and former husband William.

Chandra was born in Mahaicony, Guyana on July 7, 1935.  She was one of 11 children and was always sharing memories of growing up with her 7 sisters, 3 brothers and large extended family.  After moving to Georgetown, Guyana, Chandra graduated from Bishops High School, married and brought 3 cherished children into this world.  Chandra immigrated to Toronto in 1974 and lived and loved here until her passing.  Chandra loved travelling, cooking, gardening and most of all, spending time with her large extended family.  She was a sweet, wonderful, caring person who will be dearly missed.   

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society in memory of son Sohan would be greatly appreciated.
