OBITUARY

Rose Fatima Dyce was born on the 2nd of December 1933, in the District of Crossroads within the Parish of Saint Andrews, Jamaica West Indies to Julie Murray and Joseph Dyce.

Rose passed away on January 3, 2024, at 5:15 A.M peacefully at Rockcliffe Care Community. Rose leaves behind two sisters Cassie and Ivy, four sons Joel, Everton, Baginton and Cornel. She was preceded in death by her daughter Marjorie the mother of three of her grand children. Rose also leaves behind eight great grand children in United Kingdom, United States and Canada.

After the early death of her daughter Marjorie, Rose raised her children as her own.

Rose migrated to Canada in the 80’s to become a caregiver to the wife of Mr. Lynne. Rose was so excellent in her service to the Lynnes’. The Lynnes’ treated Rosie like a member of the family. Many of Rose’s friends frequented Mr. Lynne’s home to savour Rose’s outstanding cuisine after church on Sunday’s.

Rose received her training as a health care worker at George Brown College. She was determined to stay in Canada.  God had a plan for Rose. Rose began to volunteer at Providence villa helping the Nuns to serve the community weekly.  They were very impressed with her level of service as a volunteer.

When Rose made her application to become a permanent resident of Canada, the sisters at Providence Highly recommended her. The immigration officer stamped her passport for immediate residency.

Rose became a member of the Peoples Church and served faithfully for many years.  The evangelist in Rose was unstoppable.  She became involved in street evangelism.  She would prepare food and feed the street people, preaching the gospel to them.  She funded this ministry herself. She began preaching on the TTC buses. Especially to the bus drivers.  She was put off many buses. The evangelist in her was unstoppable. She would frequently tell us that “she was sweet with the King.”

Rose was one of the founding members of Word of Faith International Christian Center. She was also a graduate of the Bible training center.

Rose began to minister in nursing homes.  She would later become a resident in the nursing home she preached in.  She was well known by the staff, and they took excellent care of her. On the day she died, the nurses, and other staff members came by her room to say goodbye.  One staff member sat by her bed and played in her hair as she said her goodbyes.  Mama Rose loved greatly all those who came into her life.

She is now living in heaven with King Jesus.

Rose leaves Grand Children: Nicole, Joan, Jessie, Omar, Negrem and Candees.  Great Grand Children:  Malcom, Kanijo, N’zimbo, Anthony, and Ackashebea, Jorie Journey, Amya Jai, Chance, Gauntlett.
